Our alumni are working as purchasing officers, officers of supply management, inspection, and quality officer, store operation manager, transportation and logistics manager, Custom officer, material manager and in a host of operational areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The accelerated rate of change in the world economy is driven by an empowered consumer; a shift in economic power toward the end of the supply chain; deregulation of key industries; globalization; and technology are all forced the department to upgrade itself to <strong>Logistics and Supply Chain Management <\/strong>in<strong> 2007-08<\/strong>.&nbsp; The department is now organized in a new way and working strongly towards this uncontrolled Global Phenomenon and to produce professionals which can go side by side and respond appropriately to the requirement of <strong>Local and Global companies<\/strong>. To achieve its objectives the department is currently offering courses and practical training, which makes the learner to be competitive in Logistics and supply chain areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The department is now well organized in Human, financial, and required equipment that facilitates the smooth teaching-learning process. With regard to teaching staff, the department is intensively working to upgrade its teaching staff to postgraduate and doctoral levels and most of the staff members are presently attending their higher studies within the country and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">In addition to the normal teaching-learning process, the department is planning to give short and long term training for industries on areas ; logistic operation, supply chain concept and practices, transportation management, government purchasing and practices, total quality management concept and practice, store operation management, import-export and custom clearing procedures and in others operational areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mission, Vision, and Values<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission\/Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">In line with the mission of the University, the LSCM department is committed to producing ethical and competent graduates with knowledge and skills in Logistics and Supply Chain Management; conducting research and community service with entrepreneurial training to support the industrial and socio-economic development of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a><\/a><a>The vision of LSCM is to be globally recognized as one of the distinguished centers for excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from East Africa by 20<\/a>30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Values<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Below are the bedrock values of Arsi University and CoBE that are directly cascaded to the LSCM department too. These principles shall be held in the highest regard at all times and form the basis of our actions and interactions. These ideals are essential to maintain the honorable and proud traditions of teaching and learning processes. The program uses various types of teaching and learning methods appropriate to each course.
